Vulcanising Repair
In addition to offering tyre repairs using the typical plug patch and glue method, we offer a vulcanising repair that is far superior in strength and load bearing.
A vulcanising repair is where the tyre is dressed on the inside (at the puncture area) with a curing compund and an amount of uncured rubber is forced in to the puncture. This is then heated under pressure, bonding this new rubber to the existing tyre casing.
Vulcanising allows more puncture types to be repaired and is suitable for any tyre and speed rating which is NOT the case with plug and glue.
We have been vulcanising tyres for 80 years, and without doubt, it is the best repair method.
